In December 2000, the Study Advisory Committee completed its evaluation of the relative significance of 2,748 sites in the history of the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. The Committee selected 811 historic places in the United States and Canada that represent the most significant events of the two wars. The selected sites are the focus of this historic preservation study. Field surveyors will visit each U.S. site to assess its current condition and threats to its survival. The surveys will help the NPS and its partners make recommendations for site preservation and interpretation. Sites not selected for this study will be listed in the final project report to encourage future preservation action. Note: The Study Advisory Committee continues to review its work. The list of selected sites is subject to change. Please send comments about the list to the address below or to nps_hps-info@nps.gov (include "Rev1812 Study" in the subject line). For technical assistance please send us an email and we will contact you as soon as possible.
