Statement of Significance (as of designation - July 31, 2003):
This was the first house to be built under Wright's concept of the "Solar Hemicycle." Rooms were largely circular or semi circular, oriented towards the sun and protected from the north wind by berms. Wright's use of passive energy to heat the house preceded the "energy crisis" by thirty years.

Condition:
There are no threats to the landmark.

The entire roof was replaced and redone with rubber membrane in 2007.
