Statement of Significance (as of designation - April 15, 1970):
This large Spanish Colonial town house is the only remaining example in Texas of an aristocratic 18th-century Spanish residence. Constructed about 1749, it was originally intended as the residence of the commanding officer of the presidio.

Condition:
Similar to last reporting period. Walls of the museum are cracking and the adobe requires repair. Paintings and artifacts suffer due to lack of climate-controlled storage.

No changes since the last report.

Recommendation/Change since last report:
The city of San Antonio needs to stabilize and repair the building.
