Statement of Significance (as of designation - November 11, 1971):
Constructed between 1845 and 1859, this is a prime example of the Greek Revival style by one of the most noted architects of the time, William Strickland. The structure has an Ionic portico on each of its four sides and a simple and well-proportioned interior.
