Statement of Significance (as of designation - December 8, 1976):
Erected in 1918 for the U.S Army Signal Corps Aviation Section on one of its hastily established World War I training field, this wood-trussed frame structure is the country's oldest Air Force aircraft storage and repair facility and symbolizes the early Army effort to create an effective air force. Condition:
Currently, there are no threats to the landmark.

Minor work including painting and in-kind replacement of rotted wood was completed in 2006. In 2007, two of the side entry doors were replaced with 5 panel wood doors to match original.
