Statement of Significance (as of designation - May 30, 1974):
Built in 1858 for German Catholics, the large rectangular structure of brick construction was dedicated in 1860. The Church's interior and exterior ornamentation make it a striking example of German Baroque architecture.

Condition:
Hurricane Katrina caused heavy rain and wind damage, and water infiltration has damaged interior plaster and ceiling.
