Statement of Significance (as of designation - February 20, 1972):
Represents a strong reaction to the traditional rectangular meeting house-with-steeple approach that had dominated Protestant religious architecture for more than half a century. The church's design stresses the interplay of geometric forms, and is essentially a hemisphere set on a cube.
