Statement of Significance (as of designation - November 13, 1966):
C.A. THAYER is one of only two surviving examples of the sailing schooners designed specifically for use in the 19th-century Pacific Coast lumber trade.
Condition:
Currently there are no threats to the landmark
C.A.THAYER recently underwent a multi-million dollar project to rehabilitate her hull, deck & keel. She has returned to the park and we are awaiting funding to restore her rig, her forward house and interior foc's'le.
