Statement of Significance (as of designation - January 7, 1976):
This house with attached library (1902-1906) is considered one of the masterpieces of Wright's early period. It retains much of its original furniture and stained glass.

Condition:
Currently, there are no threats to the landmark.

The site is undergoing a $3 million rehabilitation project to install a new HVAC system, extensive repairs to the wood window sills and sashes and storm glazing. A new security system is to be installed and a new wheel chair vertical lift is to be installed for easier ADA access in the north living room porch. The site will remain open to the public for tours during the renovation project (Fall 2006-2007)
