Statement of Significance (as of designation - May 15, 1975):
At the time of its completion in 1867, this suspension bridge, with its 1,057' span, was the longest in the world. It remains one of the Nation's foremost suspension bridges, crossing the Ohio River between Covington and Cincinnati, Ohio.

Condition:
Bridge is in excellent condition due to recent repairs
