Statement of Significance (as of designation - January 20, 1961):
Dickinson served in the Delaware and Pennsylvania legislatures. He was a member of the Stamp Act Congress, the First and Second Continental Congresses, and the Constitutional Convention. His political writings, such as "The Letters of a Pennsylvania Farmer," earned him the title "Penman of the Revolution."

There are no threats to the landmark at this time.
