Statement of Significance (as of designation - May 15, 1975):
From 1906 to 1923, this was the home of the chemist Edward W. Morley (1838-1923), who collaborated with Albert A. Michelson in measuring the speed of light (1887) and determined the atomic weights of hydrogen and oxygen. Not open to the public.
