Statement of Significance (as of designation - May 11, 1976):
Completed in 1819, this English Regency style residence has unique features such as indirect lighting, curved walls and doors, and an elegant central stairway. Considered by some to be the most beautiful of its class in America.

Owners completed a major restoration using Getty Funds in 2001.
