Statement of Significance (as of designation - May 11, 1976):
From 1907 to 1921, this three story brick house was the residence of Robert A. Millikan (1868-1953), one of America's best-known 20th-century scientists. In 1923, Millikan received the Nobel Prize in Physics for his work in demonstrating the existence of electrons.
