Statement of Significance (as of designation - July 19, 1964):
Excavations have revealed details of burial practices at this type site for the Kolomoki culture (c. 1400-1600). Contains one of the largest mound groups on the southeastern coastal plain.

Condition:
There are no reported threats to the landmark.

The landmark received a TEE grant in 2008.
