Statement of Significance (as of designation - June 2, 1978):
Put in to full operation in 1918, this plant was used by noted automobile manufacturer Henry M. Leland, who established the reputation of Cadillacs and Lincolns. During World War I, Leland used the plant to produce Liberty airplane engines.

Lincoln Motor Company Plant--In December 2002 and January 2003, major contributing resources were demolished. The Adminstration Building and Garage (Building A); the Machine Shop (Bldg B), Factory C (Bldg C), and Factory D (Bldg D) were leveled and removed. The property is currently under consideration for de-designation as the site no longer meets the criteria for Landmark status.
