Statement of Significance (as of designation - June 19, 1980):
The present Greek Revival-style structure (1840) houses a congregation regarded as the birthplace of Reform Judaism in America. It is also the second-oldest synagogue in the United States in continuous use.

Condition:
There are no threats to the landmark at this time.

This landmark houses an active Reform Jewish Congregation. There are no changes to report.
