Statement of Significance (as of designation - June 29, 1989):
The "motion picture" architectural style reached its peak in Detroit in 1928 with Howard Crane's Fox Theater, the culmination of a flamboyant, inventive era. The interior is an eclectic collection of Far East modes, including Burmese, Indian, Chinese, Persian, and Hindu motifs.

The landmark is in good condition.
