Statement of Significance (as of designation - October 3, 1985):
The only facility of its type in NASA's inventory, the Spacecraft Magnetic Test Facility makes it possible to determine and minimize the magnetic movement of even the largest unmanned spacecraft, and thus to maintain satellites in orbit.
