Statement of Significance (as of designation - May 28, 1987):
Constructed between 1930 and 1943, this complex is a classic example of an exaggerated rustic style. The complex, consisting of three buildings and a vertical log "stockade" fence enclosing a utility yard, was built from a design with roots in frontier architecture of the Pacific Northwest. It was to be architecture suitable to the magnificent scenery of the western parks.
