Statement of Significance (as of designation - May 28, 1987):
Dating from the 1930s, this is the largest collection of CCC-built structures in a National Park area that has not been altered by new structures in the district. This group of 31 buildings illustrates the guiding principles of National Park Service rustic architecture.

Condition:
The Historic District is in good condition; only cyclical maintenance is required.

THe following undertakings occurred on various contributing buildings in the past 2 years: Repair and refinish casement window sash, frames and screens. Repair and/or replacement of viga ends.
