Statement of Significance (as of designation - November 13, 1966):
Henry Ford revolutionized American transportation by mass-producing an inexpensive car. The Ford family occupied this 56-room house from 1915 until 1950, two years after Henry's death.

Condition:
Stonework is needed below the dam on the site. Alternate plans are being discussed with MWRO NPS involvement.

Received a Save America's Treasures grant; Americana and Lord Grant for $1.4 million. In 2008-2009, another grant is lined up to add a fire suppressions system. Gardens are in good condition but open spaces around the garden need maintenance.
