Statement of Significance (as of designation - July 19, 1964):
This is the only excavated village of the Valley focus, an early Plains-Woodland culture. The site suggests a trade or cultural network emanating from the Midwest's Hopewell culture, which linked other groups from the eastern seaboard to the Gulf of Mexico to the northern Rocky Mountains.

Condition:
No response was received from the owner to the 2004 NPS inquiry regarding the condition of the landmark.
