Statement of Significance (as of designation - January 20, 1961):
Discovered in 1936 during the course of bat guano mining operation, Leonard Rockshelter is significant for the long continuum of sporadic cultural occupations recorded in its stratigraphy (6710 BC-1400 AD).

Condition:
The site has been subjected to occasional vandalism.

Recommendation/Change since last report:
The steward should monitor the site regularly to identify problems and allow for more immediate assistance when needed.
