Statement of Significance (as of designation - July 19, 1964):
This was a small village of the Plains agricultural complex, dating from about 1000 to 1400 AD, called the Washita River Focus. As one of the better-known sites of this type, this remains a key site for the interpretation of Southern Plains prehistory.

The landmark is in fair condition.
