Statement of Significance (as of designation - June 13, 1962):
These are the home (called "Aspet"), gardens, and studios of Augustus Saint-Gaudens (1848-1907), one of America's most eminent sculptors, who moved into the house in 1885 and spent many of his most productive years here.

Condition:
There are no threats to the landmark at this time.

The Saint-Gaudens NHS has been successful in obtaining funding through internal NPS sources and external funding to address a number of projects to preserve the buildings, grounds and collections.
