Statement of Significance (as of designation - October 9, 1960):
Fought in 1763, the Battle of Bushy Run was a decisive British victory during "Pontiac's Rebellion", the best-organized 18th-century campaign by Native Americans against Anglo-American frontier settlements.

Condition:
The entire battlefield is not protected by ownership by the Commonwealth and Penn Township is experiencing rapid growth. pressure for creation of housing development is very high and several have been proposed on the site's boundary.
