Statement of Significance (as of designation - October 9, 1960):
Completed in 1742, this is an outstanding example of a plantation house. The entrance hall, with its elaborate double stairs, full wood paneling, and ornamental ceiling, was among the finest in the British Colonies.

Due to the preservation philosophy at Drayton Hall, "preserve as is" the site is consistently in need of attention. The funding and departments are in-place to provide this service, and the site is in good condition.

There are no changes to the landmark.
