Statement of Significance (as of designation - July 19, 1964):
First excavated 1938-1939, this is the type site, on the Brazos River, of the southernmost Plains village agricultural complex, and possibly represents a group ancestral to Wichita tribes.

There are no know threats to the site. This NHL is privately owned and not open to the public.
