Statement of Significance (as of designation - October 9, 1960):
This house, built in the 1660's, was used by colonials under Bacon as a stronghold in their 1676-1677 rebellion against British exploitation.

Condition:
Building in general need of maintenance and some masonry repointing to address interior moisture consitions, but no known condition that threatens integrity

Owner's restroarion crew will address soem of these maintenance concerns withi the next twelve months
