Statement of Significance (as of designation - September 25, 1997):
This park represents the highest achievements of the collaboration between the NPS and the Bureau of Reclamation in developing what became known as "recreation areas" around reservoirs built in Western states.

Condition:
The park is in good condition. There are no immediate threats.

The state recently held the 75th Anniversary New Deal Celebration at the park.
