Statement of Significance (as of designation - October 9, 1960):
Rising above the curving shore of Plymouth Bay near the foot of Leyden Street, the first street laid out in the original Plymouth settlement, Cole's Hill is the burial place of the colonists who died in the first winter of settlement (1620-21).
