Statement of Significance (as of designation - December 24, 1967):
One of two remaining examples of the modern era of showboats that ended in the 1920s, GOLDENROD (1910) is the largest and most elaborately decorated of the showboats. Originally seating 1400, she provided entertainment in the form of minstrel shows, vaudeville, or serious drama.

Condition:
Normal physical deteriation, otherwise the ship is in satisfactory condition.

The owner is seeking a permanent home for the ship.
