Statement of Significance (as of designation - November 24, 1968):
This two story, gabled roofed log house is traditionally dated to 1645, though it was more likely built about 1707. With its thick, protective walls, the house is representative of the vernacular log architecture widely used in New England in the 17th century as a defense against Indians.

The building’s foundation is beginning to erode. The owner has attempted to shore it up, but it bears watching.
