Statement of Significance (as of designation - November 7, 1973):
Completed in 1819, this is one of the great Greek Revival townhouse designs in the U.S. Reception hall and mezzanine are a grand spatial composition. Sometime during the mid-19th century a third story was added, compatible with the original design.
