Statement of Significance (as of designation - December 30, 1970):
One of architect Frank Lloyd Wright's most famous designs, this large, long, low, U-shaped two-story suburban "Prairie house" of frame and stucco was built between 1907 and 1909. Including strong horizontal lines, impressive chimneys, flowing interior spaces, a raised basement, low-pitched over-hanging roofs and careful integration with its site, Wright considered it one of the best of his early buildings.

There is no threat to the landmark at this time.

The landmark received the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Landmarks Illinios Preservation award for Restoration in 2007.
